Hellerwork is a
systematic soft-tissue approach to the improvement of the overall structure
and functioning of the body. When the first people trained in
this kind of work in the 60’s (with Dr. Ida P. Rolf) people called
it “drive-in yoga”. Joseph Heller trained with Dr. Rolf
and was the first president of The Rolf Institute before he left to
start Hellerwork in 1978. In a three-fold approach Hellerwork includes
myo-fascial bodywork, movement and awareness education and a conversation
to relate the mind and the body. The results most commonly reported
include an effortless improvement in posture, easier and fuller breathing,
freedom from aches & pains and an enhanced ability to release tension
and manage stress on a daily basis.
Roger also trained
recently as Shaw method swimming teacher with the founder Steven Shaw.
Roger Golten trained with Joseph Heller in 1983 and was in the first
group of non-Americans to learn this technique. Since 1983 Roger has
worked tirelessly to put Hellerwork on the map in the UK. He calls it
the “50,000 mile service for the body”! It’s a great
way to accelerate progress and performance in disciplines like yoga
& Pilates because it shares many of the same principles. More details

Over the last 25 years Roger has built a very successful practice in
